Digital India, Viksit Bharat, and the Smart City vision are becoming reality through innovations like UPI and Digi Locker. However, many institutions that issue documents for Digi Locker are not fully digitalized.
Why Digitalization is Necessary
Obtaining a document often involves a lengthy process where documents are verified manually, taking weeks or even months. Additionally, corruption can occur in the document production process. For instance, to obtain a document requiring 20-25 supporting documents, an agent might bypass the need for any documents if you pay a fee. An online document issuance system could eliminate the need to repeatedly submit the same details and documents for different applications.
This highlights the need for a Dastaavej Assistance portal, an online system for efficient document production.
Proposed Design
The proposed portal includes a home page, a registration page for applicants, and a login page for both applicants and administrative officials. After logging in, administrative officials will be directed to an application verification and approval page for processing and issuing documents.
Applicant Interface
Applicants will create a profile with essential details such as Name, Date of Birth, Mobile Number, Email Address, Permanent and Temporary Address, Password, and Identification Cards (e.g., National Identity, PAN, Passport). They will submit documents either as images or through Digi Locker. After profile creation, applicants will receive a Unique ID and Password for login. They can then apply for various documents, filling in required details and submitting additional documents as needed.
Administrative Interface
To ensure thorough verification, the administrative interface will feature three levels of approval: a Registration Verifier, Junior Approval, and Chief Approval. The verifier will review registration details and documents, sending them back to the applicant for corrections if necessary. Once all approvals are complete, a certificate will be generated, and a link to the document will be saved in the database and sent to the applicant via email or SMS.
Future Developments
I am working on developing a prototype of the Dastaavej Assistance system. If successful, I will share it for broader evaluation. This system aims to enhance efficiency, speed, and security, which are crucial for achieving a smart India.
Updates
The outer front end I have designed till now.
The Unique ID is made in the format current year First Letter of Applicants Name, Mother's Name, Father's Name, Surname and Date of Birth in the format YYYYMMDD and last number indicates the number of individuals with this Unique Id making all Ids Unique.
Hope all administrative officials are reading this are with my points and we will see another transformation for digital India. This is just a prototype and at very initial stages administrations can even approach their developers my aim is to have similar system in country.
